Kelly Caldwell

Coaching Background:
Kelly started coaching immediately after graduating high school with his brother’s team, which won a Gold medal in 2001. He then went on to coach at his former club, SCVC, for 9 years where he won a Bronze medal and 3 more Gold Medals. In 2004 to 2005 he was an assistant coach with the UCLA women’s volleyball team.

Playing Background:
2-year captain at Mira Costa High School where he played setter, outside hitter, and sometimes middle blocker. After suffering through mononucleosis during his senior season he still made 2nd team all-league and led his team to the semifinals in the div-1 playoffs. He was a 1999 all-tournament selection at Junior Nationals. In 2000 his team earned the Bronze Medal. He started as a freshman at Long Beach State and was offered a spot with the USA team for the University Games. Kelly retired after his sophomore year for health reasons. He has been an elite beach player since high school and continues to compete on the beach.
