Macy Jerger

Assistant Club Director

Macy Jerger, current AVP professional athlete and head coach of the beach volleyball program at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, is one of the Assistant Club Director at 949 Volleyball Club. Macy is entering her sixth year at 949 Volleyball Club and has coached multiple top teams, from U13-U17, over the years. Coach Jerger has been coaching at Santa Margarita Catholic High School for five years now where she has made a huge impact on the beach and indoor volleyball programs. She coached on the boy’s indoor volleyball team where she was the JV head coach and assistant varsity coach for two seasons (2019-2021). She also coached on the girl’s indoor volleyball side where she was the frosh head coach and varsity assistant coach (2020-2022). In 2021, she became the head coach of the first ever girls beach volleyball program at SMCHS. Coach Jerger’s girls beach program is ranked 2nd in Trinity League and 5th overall in the CIF Southern Section. In 2022, she started the boys beach program at SMCHS where they are ranked 5th overall in Southern California. 

Macy played D1 collegiate beach volleyball for Florida State University (2015-2019) where she earned a spot in the starting line-up her freshmen year and remained a starter until she graduated. During her career at FSU she was a two-time NCAA National Champion Runner-Up (2016,2018), four-time Conference Champion (2016-2019), and All-Conference Student-Athlete of the year three years in a row (2017-2019). Before college, Jerger was a four-year varsity letterman for indoor volleyball at her high school, Fort Myers High School, where she led her team to the State Championship finals in Florida. She was also named AVCA High School All-American (2015) for beach volleyball. Today, Coach Jerger is a consistent main draw athlete on the AVP tour. She has a 1st place finish at the Virginia Beach AVP Tour Series event (2023), a 9th place finish at the Chicago AVP Gold Series event (2023), and a 9th place finish at the Hermosa AVP Pro Series event (2023).

Coach Jerger fell in love with coaching her first season at 949. She loves passing on her knowledge of the game to the younger generation and helping young athletes grow into independent, respectful adults. Macy enjoys setting goals with her athletes and supporting them along their road to success on and off the court.
